The always tough Herkimer Generals invaded the Raiders Den on Wednesday night.  The FM men's basketball team was able to hang with the Generals for most of the 1^st half, but Herkimer was able to pull away for the 88-71 victory.  The Raiders drop to 11-6 on the season and are in 7^th place in the Region 3 standings.

Dante Morgan and Nigel Hemingway led the way in the scoring column for the Raiders.  Morgan scored 22 points and Hemingway followed with 17.

Morgan scored seven straight points mid-way through the first half to put FM in the lead 18-13.  The Generals would respond with a 14-1 run and regain the lead 19-28.  FM would keep the game in reach, but Herkimer closed out the half with a 26-40 lead.

The Generals came out firing in the 2^nd half as they extended their lead to 41-71 with 10 minutes remaining.  FM outscored Herkimer in the final 10 minutes to set the score at 67-87, but the run wasn't enough as Herkimer was able to hold off the Raiders 71-88.

FM's next contest will be Saturday when they travel to play the Mohawk Valley Hawks at 3:00 p.m. The Hawks are currently ranked 5^th in the NJCAA DIII poll and 3^rd in the region.
