The Fulton Montgomery Men's Basketball team has earned an at-large berth to the 2024 NJCAA DIII National Championship Tournament as the #8 seed. The Raiders are making the trip back to the Championship Tournament in back-to-back seasons.
FMCC will take on the #9 Sandhill Flyers out of Pinehurst, North Carolina. The game will be played at Herkimer College on Wednesday, March 13th at 12:00 p.m. EST. The winner will take on #1 Dallas North Lake (26-4) from Irving, TX on March 14th at 2:00 p.m. EST
Sandhill finished the season falling to Prince George's Community College in the Mid-Atlantic District Championship and finished with a 24-8 record.
The Raiders are riding a 25-4 record and have won the last 17 of 18 games to finish the season. They have had five wins against teams ranked in the top 15.
This will be the second trip to the NJCAA Tournament for Head Coach Ej Gallup in just his third season on the side-lines.
"We are really excited to be going back to the National Championship Tournament for the second year in a row. This is not something we take for granted, there's over 150 schools nationwide that start the season and only 12 make it to this point. It is the result of my players, assistant coaches, and anyone else in and around campus that have had a hand in helping build the program to where it is now. I'm really happy for my kids to be able to experience this again this season," stated Head Coach, Ej Gallup.
