Raiders Outlast Cougars, 72-65

The men's basketball team hosted Clinton CC on Wednesday night in their first Conference game of the season. The #7 nationally ranked Raiders outlasted Clinton to secure the 72-65 victory.

FMCC jumped out to a quick 13-5 lead in the first half. Clinton responded with a 12-0 run and took the lead 17-13. Johnardo Turner ended the scoring drought and got the Raider offense back on track and tied the game at 20 with five minutes left in the half. FM was able to close out the half with a 32-38 lead.

The Raiders came out of the locker room strong and went on a 10-3 run and led 43-31 with 15 minutes remaining. Clinton was able to cut the lead to five down the stretch, but it was not enough as Turner and Milos Cirovic knocked down crucial free throws.

Cirovic led with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Turner had a big night off the bench with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists.

FMCC will now begin a three-game road stand. The Raiders will travel to Corning Community College on Sunday, November 17th to take on the Red Barons at 3pm.
